HERE ON THIS PAGE I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU A FEW IDEAS ON WAYS WE CAN FELLOWSHIP IN CHRIST THAT ARE DIFFERENT TO CHURCH SERVICES WHERE PEOPLE OFTEN SIT LIKE STRANGERS TO EACH OTHER IN AN UNNATURAL ENVIRONMENT. EARLY CHRISTIANS MET TOGETHER LIKE THE BEST OF FRIENDS! TRULY THEY WERE BROTHERS AND SISTERS!
“CHURCH” as we know it today is NOT the same Model the Early Christians had.
To some, it’s a blessing regardless – in some way – to others it serves as
a hindrance as it quenches blessing in their lives……..they feel stifled whatever.

For so many years now, most of us have lived with a mentality that is fostered by church-preachers and handed on to us that is not correct despite all the biblical preaching they give and try to deliver. We’re not really living the life Jesus designed for us, never mind man!
Maybe people in the world are wiser in some respects than us when they don’t want to ‘be churched’ because the Church System as we know it today, was actually introduced by Constantine for political advantage – he changed the Early Christian way of doing things into a State Institution………and we have had this problem ever since.
Apart from the “Look after No 1 “ attitude that pervades the minds and hearts of men and women…….often they have the common-sense to know there’s better to be found in life and set out to find it or achieve it……they are “their own person” and free to do this while Christians often, settle for what comes over the platform and pleasing the pastor – maybe even the person sitting next to them.
We have so many church buildings with church programs and such_ people are invited and expected to come to them….and in the main, this has achieved very little. Our seeming religious acts and sometimes graces, have very little or no relevance to a lost and aching community, seeking for answers; craving for real love; searching for happiness but it does not last.
Many look like they have it all “together” but their personal lives tell a different story. And so often church has little relevance to the REAL LIFE Jesus has for us! We’re churchy whatever but missing out on the Victory that’s preached in theory and Answered Prayers we hear about in testimonies. It seems beyond our reach. As a matter of fact, even testimonies have been missing from Church Services I’ve known of since the mid 70’s.
May I put it to you that Jesus came to change things from the way that Jewish people had things. The pharisees were committed to God’s Word too, with a lot of rules and laws added to it; attendance in the Synagogues – meeting places of that day…… Jesus calling us to a personal walk with Him – was actually met by the early Christians response in the Book of Acts as meeting in each other’s houses: they were REAL with each other both NATURALLY and SPIRITUALLY.
The Holy Spirit is raising up House Churches again where Christians
fellowship together in this way. And what’s to stop you from inviting some Christian
friends over or meeting somewhere together on an occasional weekend? My sister loves to do that and I’m about to make time for this.
Fellowship Is For Encouraging – Not Legalism!
